Beaches


St Lucia is one of the smaller more leisurely Islands in the Caribbean, boasting beautiful beaches with a welcoming light breeze, like the popular Anse de Sable beach. This is one of the favorite places for wedding ceremonies, along the un spoilt beaches that are lined with palm trees and surrounded by clear warm calm seas. You could also try some windsurfing on one of the more challenging waves at Cas en Bas and Vieux Fort beaches.



Sightseeing


There is plenty to see on this small volcanic gem of an island. Visit the popular historical 19th-century Catholic Cathedral that stands in the shade of a 400-year-old samaan tree. You could also explore the fantastic rainforests and see the heritage working plantations of the island. Pack your backpack and hike through the lush green island’s botanical gardens that boast an abundance of orchids and other beautiful flowers with green tropical vegetation. The natural sulphur springs are a must to see and smell. Don’t forget to go and see the Diamond Waterfalls. If you enjoy a round of golf, try a game or two on one of the 3 courses on the island. There is something for all the family in St Lucia. You could head out to sea on one of the turtle and whale watching trips: this will be a great experience for all the family. Perhaps you may happen to see the protected turtle eggs on the beach. St Lucia is one of the best places in the world to see whales, it is said that over 20 species have been seen off its coast, including sperm whales, pilot whales and humpbacks.



Eating


Eating is typical in St Lucia as of all the Caribbean Islands with a mix of Creole, French and West Indian influences. The major towns serve a variety of foods that are international and typical foods of the island, the most popular being fried green banana, salt fish and the specialty of this beautiful island, lobster. There is something for everyone served in the local hotels, you will also find rum to be a popular drink that is included in most cocktails and punch’s served.



Nightlife


The Nightlife of St Lucia is mostly based around the hotels and restaurants, with some beach parties. There are plenty of BBQ’s and live entertainment in the evening for all the family. The music is typical Caribbean with reggae, salsa and calypso.



Shopping


Spend the day in the city of Castries, this is the major port for the Cruise ships, where there are plenty of good tourist shops and excellent jewellery stores to keep you busy. You will find plenty of craft outlets selling local handmade items including woodwork, hats, sandals and beaded items. Duty free shopping is available to all the visitors of the Island as long as you can provide your passport when making your purchase. Pointe Seraphine has over 30 duty free shops for you to explore, selling a variety of things to suit the family, this small island has plenty of colorful bustling markets to keep you busy too.
