Originated hundreds of years ago, the teapot, this covered spouted vessel, is still used by millions of people to brew their tea. The ever so popular teapot remains a permanent fixture in most everyone's home. What better way than to spend a cold winter's eve sipping on a hot cup of tea brewed in your favorite teapot? For some reason it seems that tea brewed in a small teapot tastes better than tea brewed any other way.

Tea brewed in a teapot has a magical effect. When you're ill you brew some tea in your teapot, drink it, and all of a sudden you feel much better. Your special teapot sits alongside your bed till your all well. When recovered, take it back to the kitchen, wash it, and tuck it away in a cabinet or display it on your counter or curio.

Teapots are a great gift to give someone who is in the hospital, recuperating at home, or not feeling well. It is a thoughtful and cheery gift that will lift a person's spirits. You can sit back and enjoy a cup of tea together and all you need is some hot water, a tea bag and some good conversation.

When purchasing a théière there are a few things to consider.

What style do you want? Pick a teapot that reflects on your own unique personality. If you like flowers, get a teapot in the shape of a flower or one that has flowers painted on it.

What material should it is made of? If you want your tea to stay warmer longer, purchase japanese or English porcelain teapot as it holds the heat longer.

How do you care for it? When caring for a teapot is sure to wash it after every use. Do not put your teapot in an automatic dishwasher. It is best to hand wash your teapot in warm soapy water, then rinse it and dry it with a soft cloth or towel.

A teapot can also be used to brew other things besides just tea. You can use your teapot for brewing instant coffee, which works very well. Just be sure to wash and rinse your teapot right away afterward so it will not get stained by the coffee residue. You can also make a nice pot of hot chocolate. If you have young children surprise them by serving some juice or Kool-Aid out of your teapot. Everything tastes better when served out of a teapot.
